Tutoring Services
Summit Academy offers tutoring for individuals who don’t have a high school diploma or GED and who wish to complete a GED through our program. Prospective students participate in classroom-style tutoring sessions Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Each session is 5 weeks in length.
Due to COVID-19, tutoring sessions are online. These sessions will be taught on campus when it is considered safe to do so. Days and times of the sessions remain the same.
Summit provides tutoring sessions in math, reading, and language arts to improve individual test scores on the TABE, the test Summit uses to determine whether prospective students are prepared to enter our GED program. In tutoring, students work on building confidence and improving TABE scores
Summit’s tutoring program is for students who score below a 536 on TABE reading and below a 496 on TABE math. Students who score above these levels qualify for the GED program.
Every tutoring student must accumulate 40 hours of tutoring (State requirement) before retesting for the TABE. Attendance is mandatory.
